  • Awarded as "Employer of the Future" by the German Innovation Institute
  • Start of a dual study programme for computer science
  • Partnership with TU Darmstadt and University of Applied Sciences Frankfurt
  • Attractive employer for IT specialists

DFV Deutsche Familienversicherung AG ("Deutsche Familienversicherung"), the leading direct insurer from Frankfurt, has been named "Employer of the Future" by the German Innovation Institute and the DUP Entrepreneur Magazine. The main reasons for the award are the "future orientation" and the "quality as an employer" of Deutsche Familienversicherung. In addition, the Frankfurt-based company has decided to offer a dual study programme in the field of information technology.

„We have made the insurance industry more modern and we will continue to be innovation pioneers. We started with insurance products and now we are continuing with artificial intelligence.,“ comments Dr. Stefan Knoll, Chairman of the Board of Management and founder of Deutsche Familienversicherung.

Dual IT studies at the digital direct insurer

Deutsche Familienversicherung has decided to offer dual training for students of computer science together with its partners, the Technical University of Darmstadt and the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.

During the practical phases, students will be trained on-site at Deutsche Familienversicherung in Frankfurt and work directly on the exciting IT projects of the digital direct insurer. The theoretical phases of the course take place at one of the two partner universities. Applicants are free to choose which of the two universities they would like to study at. The programme started at the beginning of the current winter semester on 01.10.2023. You can find more information about careers at Deutsche Familienversicherung here and a current recruiting spot here.

Attractive employer for IT specialists

Deutsche Familienversicherung has one of the most modern IT systems in the European insurance industry. The IT platform, which was completed in 2014, is Java and event-based and thus enables the use of state-of-the-art IT solutions, artificial intelligence and robotics. And modern technology is attractive for high-performing and well-trained employees.  At Deutsche Familienversicherung, IT specialists do not encounter legacy systems from the 70s, 80s and 90s, but can actually apply the knowledge they have learned during their training or studies directly in practice. This fact, combined with the flat hierarchies and fast decision-making processes of a digital direct insurer, enables agile working and flexible project work, regardless of where you work. This means that mobile working at Deutsche Familienversicherung is possible regardless of location and thus facilitates the acquisition of well-trained specialists.
